Skiing in the surroundings of Karlovy Vary

Karlovy Vary lies at the foot of the mountains of Krušné Hory (Ore Mountains). Their most important ski-resort of Boží Dar and other ski resorts (Pernink, Nové Hamry) are about 30 km far from there. From November to April you can use excellent snow conditions for cross-country skiing, down-hill skiing, snowboarding and other winter activities.

Down-hill skiing

Just in the closest neighbourhood of Boží Dar (25 km from Karlovy Vary) you can find 6 ski- resorts with 29 slopes of various difficulty. You can go up the slopes by different types of ski-lifts: chair-lifts or single and double drag-lifts. You can use the services of ski and snowboard hire-shops, skiing and snowboarding schools and children schools, bistros etc.

Cross-country skiing

In winter in the surroundings of Boží Dar you can use a number of well prepared and clearly marked cross-counrty skiing routes. If you want to také a cross-country skiing trip, you can cross the border with Germany on cross-counry skis. Czech and German cross-country skiing routes are linked.

Snowboarding

In the ski resort of Boží Dar - Neklid you can find one of the oldest and most popular Czech snowparks full of various blocks and jumps. Other snowparks are situated in a near resort of Klínovec and in German „ Kurort Oberwiesenthal“.
