Jáchymov – spa and mining history

Jáchymov belongs to the set of West-Bohemian spas. Apart from the spa industry this town in the Ore Mountains became well known also due to silver tolars from the House Šliks´s mint, invention of the element Radium by M. C. Sklodowska but unfortunately, also uranium mines, where the communist regime used to send undesirable people for forced labour.

Jáchymov Spa

Jáchymov Spa is world famous for treatment of chronical painful states and other problems using radon water which come from the local springs.
