Cheb

Cheb is a town in West-Bohemia, whose history goes back to 11th century.A century later there was built a castle that ensured safety of the border of the Czech Kingdom. Cheb was indelibly written into history when Albrecht of Valdštejn, the generalissomo, was murdered there in 1634. He found his death in the buiding of the present Regional Museum, where there is an exhibition dedicated to his life and death. The popular Valdštejn Festival in Cheb is held in his honour every year.
