Klášterec upon Ohře offers tourists a renewed conservation zone with a chateau, which is situated in a large English park.
The Chateau of Klášterec upon Ohře
In the neo-gothic chateau is a a museum of porcelaine. The exposition contains very rare exhibits from Oriental, European and Czech porcelaine production.The whole exposition of porcelaine is placed innearly 30 halls on the groundfloor and first floor of the chateau.
Chateau Park
Chateau Park (originally Baroque garden) was founded in the 17th century. It the end it got the form of an English natural park. It was enlarged and the original symmetric garden was slowly turning into the romantic nature of English countryside. Apart from 220 kinds of trees from all over the world you can find here a Baroque construction of „sala terrena“ with a rich decoration of sculptures.
Conservation zone
We also recommend a walk through a beautiful conservation zone. You must definitelly visit the St. Trinity Church with the accessed Thun Tomb. The building of the Town Hall, The Virgin Mary of Comfort Church and a square are also worth visiting.
